Accidental Marriage with the CEO: Unwanted Bride

Chapter 65: Cold and hot

"So tell me, what’s your plan for me, and who exactly am I investing in?" He asked, wiping away Patricia’s embarrassment. She quickly composed herself.

"It’s not like you don’t already know. Zara said she told you when you both made that deal back then," she revealed, bringing a knowing smile to his face. Patricia almost rolled her eyes, finding him completely childish.

"It’s more fun hearing you say it," he replied, raising his hand to get the attention of a waiter.

"One Americano, please. Lots of ice," he ordered, and the waiter immediately left to fulfill the request.

"Well, now that you know, do I still need to show you a proposal, or will you invest?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

"As long as this investment helps you get your divorce, I will help. I really can’t wait to court you," he said.

"I have told you, that will never happen. I am grateful you saved my life, but I am not going to repay you with my dignity. I don’t want to be entangled with you or him anymore," she clarified, holding her ground.

"I am not asking for your dignity. I am asking for your love. And I have already told you, Roman has no intention of letting you go. A divorce won’t stop him from getting you if he still wants you. But I can help get him off your back," he offered, making Patricia scoff.

"What about Eve? Are you really going to betray your best friend by dating his ex-wife just to stroke your ego? Have you ever considered how she feels?!" Patricia snapped, her voice raised, as if she could feel Eve’s pain herself.

"I owe Eve nothing. Roman made that clear when he took the thing I cherished most. It’s only fair I return the favor. Don’t you think?" He asked, completely unmoved, which only irritated her more.
