The night deepens, cold moonlight spills onto the earth, a solitary round moon hangs high in the sky amidst a scattering of chilly stars embedded in the Milky Way.
Jiang An turns to go out and empty the water from the basin. After tidying up everything, she returns to the ward and sees that it’s already very late outside. She thinks it’s time for her to go home.
Before she can speak, she hears a warm command from the man on the hospital bed: "Come up."
"Huh?" Jiang An listens in confusion to the man’s abrupt request, a ripple of bewilderment flowing quietly in her doe-like eyes.
"Let’s eat quickly, it’ll be cold soon." Jiang An turns her head, intending to open the food she brought which is already cooling, but before she can start, she hears Gao Chuan coldly decline: "No rush, just leave it."
Without making a sound, the man has already gently grasped her hand, with a flicker of cool detachment in his eyes, he softly says: "Stay here and sleep tonight."
One can tell, it’s a statement.
He seems always so domineering; even his requests never seek her opinion.
Upon hearing this, Jiang An’s cheeks blush with a thin layer of red, and unsurprisingly, she doesn’t refuse, but softly responds with an "okay".
When she agrees, the man’s lips reveal an unnoticeable slight smile.
