The first to wake up in the middle of the night was Younger Sister Glutinous Rice Ball. She opened her eyes, wasn’t scared by the pitch-blackness, but started to make "ah ah" noises instead of crying, while slapping her hands, directly waking up Brother Meatball next to her. Then Brother Meatball joined Younger Sister Glutinous Rice Ball, and they both started to cry out "ah ah ah" together.
With the two kids crying out like that, Qin Jiran and Su Yanyi immediately woke up. Qin Jiran, the new dad, was also used to taking care of the children, promptly turned on the bedside lamp, then crawled towards the kids, gently patting both babies.

"I put them all in the kitchen," said Su Yanyi as she woke up, seeing the two kids shouting "ah ah ah," knowing it was time to feed them, she reminded him.
Qin Jiran then went to the kitchen, took out the bottles and baby formula, and tested the water temperature. He skillfully prepared the milk for the two babies and handed it over to Yanyi to soothe them while they fed.
Glutinous Rice Ball and Meatball were undemanding when it came to eating, gulping their milk with relish. Although their little hands barely had any strength, they still clung to their bottles, not willing to let go at all.
"Yanyi, are you hungry? I’ll make us something to eat, let’s have some food too." It was past dinner time, and neither of the adults had eaten.
"Go ahead, I’m hungry," Su Yanyi realized she was indeed hungry, feeling as if it had been a long time since she last ate.
As Qin Jiran set about cooking, Su Yanyi sat next to them, watching the two happily drinking their milk. Her eyes narrowed with a hint of mischief, and the next moment, she unceremoniously snatched away both bottles.
