Pampered by my Billionaire CEO Husband

Chapter 167: How ironic

She had a bright smile plastered across her face, her eyes gleaming as she held onto a bouquet of flowers, probably the ones with a "Get Well Soon" card attached to it.

How ironic is that?

Memories immediately rushed into my mind, flooding my brain without a single warning. It was back to haunt me. The scene from yesterday popped into my head. I could picture the exact moment of her tearing down the streets in the car, driving straight at us and her wide eyes filled with so much hate and disdain glaring right into mine. I could even hear her cackles echoing at the back of my mind somehow, I was going crazy.

’Aurelia," I heard my name left Serena’s lips, her soft voice snapping me right back to reality. "Isn’t that..." Her voice trailed off, carrying a hint of recognition. She stared ahead with a frown etched between her brows as realisation dawned upon her.

The words barely left the tip of her tongue when I saw the door swing open. It was Paula who had walked out, coming to the door to greet her. The corners of her lips were also curved upwards into a grin, there was no doubt that she was happy to see her.

I watched as she placed her hand to rest on Evelyn’s shoulder as they locked eyes, talking to one another with smiles still lingering on their lips as they laughed without a care in the world. Before I could even react or register the situation, Serena had already wrapped her fingers around my wrist, pulling me straight towards them.

"What are you doing here?" Serena snapped as a frown crept onto her face, resting between her brows.

Evelyn and Paula immediately whipped their heads around at the voice and their eyes darted between Serena and I, a look of displeasure immediately crossed their faces in a split second.

Evelyn’s perfectly groomed brows were quickly furrowed into a deep frown as she stared at us. Her eyes fixated on Serena this time and she sneered with a disdainful scorn, looking at her with pure disgust as recognition flashed past her dark green eyes.
