Chapter 139: You want revenge?
Kelvin looked at him as he arched his eyebrow at him, an intrigued yet curious expression masked his features.
"A favour?"
"Mhmm..." Xavier muttered as he nodded his head. Before his friend could even say another word, he grabbed both him and me and pulled us aside to a corner, hidden away from everyone else. His eyes scanned the nearby surroundings to make sure no one else was nearby before he leaned in closer to murmur next to his friend’s ear. "Do you remember 3 years ago? You said you owed me a favour and you would help me with anything?"
Kelvin looked at him as recognition flashed past his eyes for a fleeting moment, the memories from before came flooding his mind. "Yes, but..." he paused and a frown crept onto his face as he observed Xavier’s features. "You are looking mad suspicious right now man, what are you up to?" He asked, his voice laced with a hint of doubt and suspicion as he eyed him cautiously.
I also found myself staring right at Xavier, curiosity burning in my eyes.
A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. "I need you to help me get a maternity test done for someone I know. And... I want the recording of the cameras in one of the wards."
Kelvin looked at him as his eyes grew wide while a confused expression crossed my face.
"Maternity test, yes I can help but recordings? I can’t do that. I don’t have the permission to give you the recordings," he said as he lowered his voice to a hushed whisper.
I reached out to wrap my fingers around Xavier’s arm as I looked up at him with a tiny frown etched between my brows. "Maternity test? Why?" I questioned, my voice laced with a hint of confusion. "You mean for my mum and I? But didn’t we already do the test and it says that I am her daughter. How could it be –"
Xavier cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "Yes, but...." his voice trailed off with an intentional look swirling in the depths of his eyes. "We haven’t done one for Evelyn and your mother. Besides, I don’t trust the results, we only did it once, what if there is some kind of mistake or mixup? Something is not right," he suggested.
"Wait, wait, wait..." Kelvin butted in this time. "Evelyn, as in Evelyn Lloyd? The only daughter of the richest family, the Lloyds?"
