Chapter 122: Show yourself!
"Aurelia Wilder! Get down here right now!" I could hear the loud voice reach my ears from a distance as the lift doors opened. I looked up, my eyes swept across the area and I found myself looking right at Blake. What the hell is he doing here? A look of surprise flashed past my eyes for a moment and I watched as the guards held him back as he continued to push and shove against them like a mad man. He was ignoring their commands as he continued to yell at the top of his lungs. "Show yourself, Aurelia! Are you scared to face me?!"
I began to walk towards him when I felt someone grab me by my wrist. I whipped my head around and my eyes met Xavier’s eyes, concern and worry swimming in his dark brown eyes. "Aurelia," my name left his lips in a low voice. "Let me handle this."
"It’s okay, I got this," I insisted. Before he could say another word, I was already marching towards Blake.
I stopped before him and crossed my arms over my chest as I looked at him.
"Who said that I am scared to face you?"
Everyone who was watching him now snapped their heads around and their eyes landed on me instead with a look of anticipation plastered across their faces.
My voice immediately got his attention as he looked up and we locked eyes. Within the next second, the corners of his lips twisted upwards into a knowing smirk as his eyes continued to burn with a fiery blaze. He stopped struggling but the guards continued to hold him in a tight grip.
He let out a breath. "Look who finally decided to show up here," he taunted as the smirk on his face grew wider. He tried to yank his arm out of their grip but they only held him tighter, as they glared at him. "I thought you would be hiding up there in your office."
"It’s okay, you can let him go," I instructed casually and they nodded, quickly releasing their grip on him but stayed close. I turned back to face him this time and Xavier remained close to me as he watched quietly. "So, what’s your deal here today?"
He let out a loud scoff. "Don’t play dumb with me, Aurelia," he sneered with a disdainful scorn. He leaned in closer to murmur next to my ear, his voice dropping to a hush whisper. "I am going to expose you in front of everyone here and ruin your life. The world needs to know what kind of person you truly are," he threatened through gritted teeth as he clenched his jaw tightly but I remained unfazed by his threats.
He leaned back and he kept his eyes on me. "You should know what you have done!"
