Chapter 115: Who is she?
"You...you..." Evelyn stammered, her voice shaking with anger as she kept her intense gaze on her. She jutted her finger out to point at Serena directly, shock and rage still evident on her face. "You bitch!" She cussed loudly, her high-pitched voice sliced through the tension lingering in the air between us.
"How could a low life person like you slap me?!" She continued to shriek, emphasising on the last word that left her lips. "Ugh, this is unbelievable!" She stomped her foot on the ground like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
"Exactly," the man chimed in this time in support of his friend as everyone continued to watch the scene unravel before their eyes like it was some drama they were watching on the television. "Do you know who she is? She is the only daughter of the Lloyd’s family! Offend her and your life is over!" He warned, his voice heavy with a threat.
Serena kept her gaze steady, adrenaline pumping in every single vein inside of her as she clenched her jaw tightly. "I’m not afraid," she declared, her voice remained steady, and her eyes remained on Evelyn’s face. "I have nothing to lose."
A chuckle left Evelyn’s parted lips, the anger in her eyes was replaced with a knowing look.
"Nothing to lose? Are you sure?" She questioned with a raised brow as she stepped forward, closing the gap between them. She stopped right in front of her and I watched as her gaze flickered down to look at Serena’s two daughters who were hiding behind their mother. The corners of her lips twisted upwards into a sinister smirk. "What about them? Are you still not afraid?" She taunted.
Within the next second, Serena’s eyes widened with horror and fear. She grabbed her kids in her arms, pushing them away from Evelyn. "Don’t you dare touch my daughters," she demanded through gritted teeth.
Evelyn scrunched up her nose in disgust as she sneered with a disdainful scorn. "Don’t you dare tell me what to do."
Her words snapped me back to reality and a surge of anger rushed through my body at that instant. One thing for sure was that I would not stand any threats directed to children.
I lifted my head to look at her with a deep frown etched onto my face. "What did you just say? Are you threatening her with her daughters?"
Evelyn crossed her arms over her chest and looked at me with a smug expression that was plastered across her face. She strutted over towards me. "So what if I am?" She replied arrogantly as the smirk on her face widened.
