Rhys stared down at the city from the floor to ceiling window of his apartment, holding a glass of bourbon.
Another night, another torture.
He gulped down the liquor letting it wash the bitter taste in his mouth.
He had been going to therapy this past year hoping the demons underneath his skin would subside.
For a moment it all went away.
For a moment he didn’t feel like he was crazy.

He threaded his fingers into his damp hair and pulled on the roots, trying to drown out the screaming.
Her beautiful smile flashed across his eyes. Her innocence.
A pair of arms draped around his waist, "Come to bed." She whispered.
Rhys flinched away when he felt her fingers trailed down his back.
