Chapter 452: The New Plan
Bishop walked with purpose, his heavy boots crunching over the broken glass on the ground. The screams from earlier had faded into silence—the kind of silence that never brought peace. It was the silence that came after too much death.
The Sanctuary had turned into a graveyard, but Bishop was beyond caring. Hattie was right. It was about time that it all burned down anyway. That way, everything could rise up from the ashes, just like he had.
He just hoped that he would finally find peace when everything was done.
For now, though, there was no time for peace or musing about the future. He had one goal, one purpose. Now, it was time to hunt down Adam and make him pay.
There was unfinished business between them. The two of them had never gotten along, not even when they had decided to go after the Dragon’s Lair and get the supplies. However, he was willing to set things aside for the greater good
But even that mercy had backfired. It seemed that only Bishop was in the dark when it came to the experiments happening under the Sanctuary, of the atrocities that Adam had created in his quest for... whatever it was.
And when those experiments were let loose, and Réne had only told Bishop to stand down and obey? There was no going back from that. That was when Adam signed his death warrant.
His brain filled with Adam it took Bishop a moment to realize that he was being called by someone nearby.
"Bishop!" called a familiar voice again. "Wait!"
