Chapter 436: Some Kid With A God Complex
"Sins can’t lose our memories," grunted Dimitri, turning away from me to look at Luca. "He’s gotta be bullshittin’ you."
Shrugging my shoulders, I went to sit down on the couch. Whether he was bullshitting me or not, the truth was that he either forgot about me or he was just pretending. Either way, it made me feel like shit.
"I’ll let you guys figure it out," I continued. Looking down at my hand, I realized that the lollypop I had taken out was no longer in it, and I let out a huff of frustration. The sugar coffee had officially run its course, and now I was crashing.
I just wanted to go home... only I didn’t know exactly where that was.
Great, now I was in the middle of a pity party for one, and I wasn’t loving that.
Jumping to my feet, I smoothed out my dress and grabbed Teddy out of my space. Apparently, only Teddy was going to be able to fix this problem. "I’m taking a nap," I announced. "You guys are going to talk to Eric and see where we are on the bug spray."
Dimitri cocked his head to the side even as Tank nodded his. "We’re comin’ into de fall. Bugs shouldn’t be dat much of a problem... right?"
"If it was an issue of mosquitoes, I would remind you that they up and disappeared at the same time that Marcus wished them away. The bugs I am talking about seem to have come out of the Country N jungle with us." Cringing just a little, I almost felt guilty about bringing a new type of plague to the humans.
After a moment of silence for those soon to die, I perked right up again. Technically, it wasn’t my fault that the creepy crawlies had hitched a ride on my house. I wasn’t in charge of fate... so whatever was going to happen would happen with or without me.
