Chapter 435: A Story To Tell
Dimitri looked at Tank, both of them feeling it the second Hattie was no longer in the mansion. It was like a pit had opened up inside of them, and it was all they could do to hold onto their temper.
Tank, losing the battle first, punched a hole in the wall before narrowing his eyes at Dimitri. "I’m getting her a collar," he grunted, heading toward the front door. Since this wasn’t their house, the hole wasn’t going to fix itself, but that was the last thing on Dimitri’s mind.
The first was who he had to kill.
Stalking down the street, people rushed to get out of their way. Even the guards at the gate between the Sanctuary and the Base didn’t try to stop them, simply opened the gate and let them through.
It was smart on their side; it saved Dimitri and Tank a few seconds and saved their lives. A win-win if there ever was one.
"Fuck the collar," grunted Dimitri as he tried to pinpoint exactly where Hattie was. In his mind, there was a bright, silver path covered in sparkles, leading him to Hattie, but that line tended to be a straight line. Unfortunately for everyone, Sanctuary wasn’t built on straight lines, so the path disappeared through buildings and alleyways, making it hard to actually find her. "I need a leash."
Tank grunted, but didn’t say whether or not he agreed with the other man. After all, it was up to Hattie if a leash for her was a good idea or not.
Weaving between buildings until they found the one with the glittery path, the two men rushed upstairs until they were outside the door. "We knockin’?" asked Dimitri, cocking his head to the side. The smell of blood wafted delicately out from under the closed door. Anyone not as sensitive to the scent wouldn’t even be able to pick it up, but it was no problem for Wrath.
"Since when do you knock?" sneered Tank as he lifted his foot. Finding the sweet spot near the handle, he booted open the door.
