Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 416: Something Important

The golf cart stopped in front of a set of wrought iron gates where pink and red climbing roses added both a touch of beauty and pain to whoever tried to climb them.

"This will be your house. You don’t have to worry about neighbors; the closest people are a retired military general who just wants to live out the rest of his life in peace and quiet, and one of the main scientists on base. The back of your property is also fenced in, and beyond that, it connects to a swamp marsh."

Eric continued to hype up the property like he was a real estate agent as he jumped out of the cart and unlocked the gates. "There are eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two living rooms, two kitchens, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, as well as a weight room, and kennels in the backyard. Everything inside has been based on what I saw in your home, so you shouldn’t have any problems settling in."

"My house only has one bedroom," I pointed out, even as I stared at the path forward. I had expected everything to be bright and airy. The typical plantation house with white siding, white columns, and a wrap-around porch.

Instead, what greeted me was something out of a gothic wet dream. Everywhere I looked, it was black with an eggplant purple trim. Even the columns and wrap-around porch were done in black with multiple chairs and small tables.

In fact, if I hadn’t created my own house... this would have definitely been my dream house. Even if it was missing a moat for Tink. Meh, I guess it couldn’t have everything.

"Do you like it?" asked Eric, as if waiting for my answer. I looked around at the trees and plants that decorated the front lawn and narrowed my eyes as I saw some very familiar vines reaching out to wrap around the trunks of trees.

Just how did Country N’s plants end up here in Country M? I mean, I had plans to do it, but I thought I needed to take a much more proactive role in it all. Maybe that also explained why whatever was inside Alicia’s father had the same feeling as the jungle.

"It’s nice," I finally admitted, looking at the golden retriever in front of me, begging for praise.
