Chapter 320: The Depths of Hell
Governor Marcus Delacroix, de facto leader of the Legislation Base, gritted his teeth as he listened to his wife fucking another man.
His body had been suffering every day for four years with Dengue Fever. Every day, he was in excruciating pain as it felt like his bones were rearranging themselves in his body. During the nights, his organs would start to fail and die, but by the time the sun arose the next morning, he was back to the picture of perfect health.
From there, he had exactly one hour to accomplish what he needed to accomplish for the day before the fever started again and the bone-melting pain.
This cycle had gone on for 1,461 days, and now, Marcus was just begging for death.
"Harder," groaned his wife as one of her security guards fucked her into the mattress. She was now the leader behind the scenes, manipulating everything in his name for her benefit. It had taken the bast the better part of two years to recover from the torrential rains and then the mutations of the humans who had survived.
At the lowest of the low, less than a hundred humans were surviving in the base, but now there were easily half a million.
"Interesting," murmured a soft voice as a man, a stranger, approached the bed that Marcus was lying on. He looked over in Delliah’s direction before turning his attention back to Marcus. "Don’t worry. I’ll be dealing with her later."
"Who are you?" gasped Marcus as his body started cramping up in pain. "How did you get in?"
"Always the same questions. Who am I? How did I get in? What is a better question is: what did you do to deserve the fate of meeting me?" purred the man as he stretched out a finger and flicked a sweat-soaked strand of hair off Marcus’ forehead.
