Chapter 197: A Lie Or The Truth?
It was clear that he was young, maybe no more than 18, when he died the first time around. However, it was clear that no matter how much Mommy Dearest was taking care of him, he was still decomposing faster than she would have liked.
Then again, he was a walking dead body who wasn’t walking. Exercise was very important, even for the dead. It was nothing that got the tummy grumbling louder than stumbling after prey. The poor kid was missing out on the best part of the afterlife.
"How are you alive?" sputtered the woman, not bothering with whatever mindfuck she was originally working with. Now, it was clear to see just how rundown the house was, including a giant hole in the floor right by my side of the bed.
I’m surprised that I didn’t fall in it last night.
"I’m special," I shrugged, swinging my legs out of bed. Finding the hand that had fallen off last night, I gently tossed it over to the zombie. "What’s for breakfast?"
"It was supposed to be you," replied the demon, a look of confusion on her face. "Why aren’t you dead?"
"I told you, I’m special. And I really didn’t know that there were female demons, too. Look at us, both learning something new today." Making my way to the door, I waited for the demon to move so I could get by her.
