Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

"You need to start worrying," grunted Envy as he looked through Salvatore’s eyes at the rest of the men. Only Dimitri was acting how he should be. Most people had the wrong understanding of exactly who and what Wrath was. Rage and anger were only a tiny part of what made Wrath, Wrath. And while Dimitri had those traits in spades, Wrath was also about retribution and revenge.

Once he got started, it might take him years to finally end someone’s life. But you could be assured that he would destroy every aspect of their life before being so kind to finish theirs. Most people who were targeted by Wrath usually prayed for their death for years before he finally granted their wish.

René was in for a good time.

’I’m already there,’ grunted Salvatore as he stood in the corner, starting at the massive bed in front of him. The six cots were arranged in a circle around the bed so that once they got Hattie back, no one would be able to take her away from them again. ’What’s happening?’

"Pride has found a new body," replied Envy, and Salvatore could feel the rage coursing through the demon. It spread out of the entity and into his own body until he was almost trembling in rage. "And we tend to stick together."

The blood in Salvatore’s body froze at Envy’s words. ’I asked you about that before,’ he spat, his eyes narrowing in rage at Dimitri’s knife. Maybe Alicia outlived her usefulness...

"It wouldn’t matter if you killed her or not; our Little Star doesn’t see René as hers anymore," replied Envy, reading Salvatore’s mind. "Pride chose René when he and Luca fished our woman out of the icy waters as a child. When there was no one else around, Hattie built him up in her head, thanks to Pride, but now that Alicia is in the picture..."

’She won’t fight?’ snarled Salvatore. He was almost feeling abandoned by the woman he had only known for less than 48 hours. ’She won’t fight for us?’
