Chapter 37: A Good Thing
Salvatore Breaux cocked his head to the side as he studied the scene in front of him. René was still acting like he had complete control over everyone and everything. It had yet to occur to him that everything he held dear was slipping through his fingers like sand.
’Are you going to tell them?’ asked the voice inside his head.
Salvatore fought the smile that was trying to escape as he watched René fight the burning pain every time Alicia touched him. The stupid cunt didn’t even realize that she was causing him even more agony, but...
’Is masochism one of the Seven Deadly Sins?’ he asked the voice as René snarled at his brothers. ’I think that one suits him better than Pride.’
’Mmm,’ hummed Envy, and Salvatore could feel him watching the world from his eyes. ’You have a point. But Lust might take offense to that. He likes to think he’s the one in control when it comes to kinks.’
Salvatore nodded his head as he lost the fight against his emotions. The smirk on his face would have been enough to stun any of his brothers if they bothered to turn to look at him. However, he had prided himself on his ability to blend into the background; no one even knew he was standing so close to them.
So many people overlooked him because he chose not to speak that it was little wonder he knew everyone’s secrets.
Even the ones that Alicia tries so hard to hide.
’Do we bring her back?’ asked Salvatore, straightening his head as Dimitri cocked his hand back and punched René so hard in the face that the leader of their little gang couldn’t help but fall down.
