Chapter 105. Abomination 2
Leo cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders as he held the Blood Dragger, its red blade glinting in the faint torchlight. The second monstrosity stood before him, its gruesome body convulsing down the hallway, every step causing the floor to shake.
The zombies in their cells bellowed, their growls adding to the mayhem.
Leo’s smirk was gone, replaced by a hard scowl. "Another one?" he growled, his voice raw with irritation. "You’re really pissing me off."
The abomination charged, faster than the first, its blade-arm slashing in a deadly arc that tore through the air. Leo sidestepped, but its speed was relentless—the blade cuts his abdomenslightly, slicing through his coat and drawing a shallow gash.
He gritted his teeth, pain flaring, but didn’t falter. Seizing the moment as the creature’s arm smashed into the ground, Leo swung the Blood Dragger, channeling fire mana into a blazing arc. The blade cleaved through the abomination’s arm, severing it cleanly. Blood sprayed, and the monster roared, its severed limb twitching on the floor.
Leo leapt onto its shoulder, gripping a rusted iron plate bolted to its flesh. He slashed repeatedly at its neck, blood spraying with each strike. Satisfied, he vaulted off as the abomination collapsed, its fall shaking the corridor.
He glanced at the cut on his abdomen, pressing a hand to it, the wound burning but manageable. But then, a sickening sound made him pause.
The severed arm twitches violently, and the abomination stands upright slowly. Flesh tendrils erupted from its stump, writhing and twisting, reconnecting to the blade-arm in seconds. The limb reformed, intact.
Leo’s eyes widened. "Regeneration? That’s cheating," he muttered mockingly, diving aside as its arm swung, slicing a cell bar clean in half. The impact shattered nearby cells, and three zombies spilled out, growling as they charged.
