Chapter 1666: Part 3: Night Cell Tower
Night Cell Tower
Blake, Kate, and the other warriors were still waiting outside. They looked toward the Night Cell Tower. It had been quite some time since Zack Lockwood entered the tower.
Yet, Zack Lockwood still hadn’t walked out. Blake’s expression shifted dramatically; he had clearly underestimated the young man.
If the trial was still going on, it meant Zack Lockwood was successfully holding his ground against the captives.
Kate and the others wore the same shocked expressions. They couldn’t believe a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior was doing so well against seasoned criminals and foreign creatures.
They continued to murmur among themselves. Based on the elapsed time, the first battle should have already concluded.
A fight wouldn’t stretch this long unless the first opponent was defeated and Zack was already engaged in the next round.
All of them shared the same thought. Blake remained silent, his own past battles flashing through his mind from time to time.
He had been nowhere near this strong back when he was a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior. It was the same story for everyone else.
Full-fledged Red Mark Warriors were far more formidable opponents back then.
...
Meanwhile,
Boom!
I circulated both shock force and dark-purple lightning force through my body.
Meanwhile, massive tentacles reached for me. I dodged the onslaught of attacks one after another.
Swoosh!
With both inheritance forces surging inside me, I began to manipulate the dual elements.
"Lightning Finger Technique!"
I channeled the technique to unleash a volley of lightning attacks.
Boom!
One after another, straight beams of lightning shot forward, striking the oval-shaped creature.
Enhanced by the shock force, the beams detonated on impact, engulfing the oval-shaped creature in the blast.
Boom!
The massive creature crashed heavily onto the ground, sending a shockwave rippling across the arena.
Boom!
Seeing that the combination of the two inheritance forces was effective, I continued firing at the creature.
Pfft!
Black blood poured from its wounds; over fifty holes were drilled into its body, leaking dark fluid incessantly.
This happened despite the dark cloak covering it. The cloak failed to block the elemental beams this time. The creature was cunning.
It sensed something different about those attacks, they packed far more power than before.
Having been captured long ago, the creature was entirely cut off from the outside world, yet it recognized how rare it was for humanity to produce someone this capable.
If this young man could push it this far, anyone below the elite tier would surely be slaughtered by his hands.
Should he ever become a full-fledged Red Mark Warrior, he would become a walking nightmare for its elite kin.
Back on its home planet, its status held immense prestige, its kin were Quasi-Gods and above. It resolved to go all out, willing to sacrifice its life to eliminate this future threat.
Boom!
A second later, it unleashed another ability. Its oval body expanded further, and the tentacles grew thicker and more menacing, larger than a human body.
Boom!
The creature lashed out without warning. A tentacle shot forward and slammed into the ground.
The impact triggered a violent shockwave that tore through the floor before slamming against the walls.
My heart skipped a beat. I hadn’t expected the foreign creature to still have cards left to play.
"You’ll need to use the rest of your elements if you don’t want to get beaten," the ancient spirit warned.
Surprised by its urgency, I realized the danger must be real if the spirit felt the need to speak up.
I immediately began circulating all my inheritance forces, excluding only the sealing and healing forces: blood energy, bloodline power, shock force, and dark-purple lightning.
All four forces coursed through my body. It wasn’t my first time attempting this; having done it before, the elements blended seamlessly.
Boom!
Sensing that the young human was gathering energy, the creature readied its fatal strike, determined to seal his fate.
In the next breath, it whipped its massive tentacles toward me.
Coating my fists with the fused inheritance forces, I could feel the destructive energy humming beneath my skin.
Watching closely, the ancient spirit felt a wave of relief seeing that the young man had taken its advice to heart.
Looking at the creature, the spirit recalled a distant memory, though it chose not to distract Zack Lockwood just yet.
Boom!
A colossal tentacle whipped straight at me. My vision processed every detail in micro-seconds, feeding information to my brain.
My instincts flared, attacks converged from every direction, leaving no room to dodge. Countering was the only option.
In a flash, the tentacles closed in, and I threw a counter-punch with everything I had.
Boom!
My right fist collided head-on with the massive black appendage. A terrifying burst of power surged forward upon impact.
Spiderweb-like fractures of energy spread across the tentacle.
Boom!
Instantly, the energy detonated, engulfing the tentacles in violent flames and blasting it to pieces.
Before the smoke could clear, more tentacles closed in, and I met each one with a rapid barrage of punches.
Boom!
A chain of explosions tore through the chamber. The web-like power surges ripped through the tentacles, severing them and sending them crashing to the floor.
The creature was shaken to its core as it watched its limbs get pulverized.
It stared at the young human in utter disbelief. It had thought it understood the boy’s limits, but it was dead wrong; it couldn’t decipher what kind of power he was currently wielding.
It could clearly sense multiple distinct forces entwined within the attacks.
The ancient spirit breathed a sigh of relief. It had worried the boy might be caught off guard, but he had proven smart enough never to underestimate his opponent.
Boom!
After destroying the final tentacle, I darted straight toward the creature’s massive, ten-foot-tall body, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
It stood eerily still, making no move, but the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end.
Smash!
Closing the final inch, I unleashed a furious strike. The blow tore straight into its flesh.
Just like before, destructive power coursed through the creature’s body like a spider’s web, fracturing it from the inside out.
