Chapter 1665: Part 2: Night Cell Tower

Night Cell Tower

The middle-aged criminal had survived the electric shock, but he struggled to get up and use his arm. He was totally defeated. He knew what awaited him next, death.

"He is done for. You can kill him right now," the ancient spirit said.

Hearing that, I used the lightning-condensed finger technique on him. A beam of dark purple lightning burst from my forefinger.

Boom!

In a flash, the lightning beam struck the middle-aged man’s body. A detonation occurred. The lightning power broke through his body; the already charred flesh failed to defend against the attack.

As the skin and flesh were torn open, the dark lightning power entered inside and electrocuted his internal organs.

The middle-aged man had already been on the verge of death, and this final attack drained the remaining vitality from his body.

...

Control Room

Meanwhile, a few minutes earlier:

An elder was observing the screen. He saw the red light dim for a second, but the green signal hadn’t changed from the beginning.

Judging by the attack, it seemed the criminal was the one being targeted. The elder was shocked. He had been worried about the young man earlier; according to the records, he was only a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior.

He had seen the special battlefield footage of Zack Lockwood, but unlike the other elders, he was not fully convinced. He thought the criminals in the tower could pose a real threat to Zack.

Normally, it should have been the criminal taking out the young Half-Step Red Mark Warrior, but he was witnessing something else entirely.

It didn’t take long for him to see the outcome: the red signal dimmed permanently.

It meant the criminal was dead. The old man was dumbfounded. He had thought Zack Lockwood was going to face difficulties, but this moment was nothing short of a loud slap in the face.

"I don’t think he can do well against the foreign creatures. They are stronger than the ones that appeared on the battlefield," the old man muttered to himself.

...

Council Hall

Council Elder Freya received the news from the administration office. She had instructed them to inform her of anything related to Zack Lockwood, so the staff had immediately sent her a message.

Freya was not worried about the battle at all. While others were unaware of Zack’s true capabilities, the council elders had already seen him thrashing Red Mark Stage foreign creatures in the special battlefield.

Because of this, she believed the criminals locked inside the prison cells were no match for him.

She also knew there were troublesome foreign creatures inside that could pose a slight threat to Zack, but if he used his bloodline element, he could easily defeat them as well.

She stopped worrying about the challenge. It was the same for the other elders; they knew Zack was going to win and told everyone else not to overthink it.

The office staff were surprised by this response, unaware that the old man in the control room was currently reeling in shock.

He had expected Zack to suffer heavy damage, but something else entirely was happening inside the tower.

Unfortunately, he could not watch the live footage.

...

Night Cell Tower

When the middle-aged man died, I began to explore the room. I noticed another door at the far end. Seeing that, I walked over to it, having found no other way forward.

I had heard from Senior Blake that there were no separate floors here. I arrived in front of the door and began to inspect it. It was tightly shut.

There was no way to open it from this side, no doorknob, console, or mechanism nearby.

I quickly realized the next opponent might be coming through this very door.

A few seconds later, I felt movement behind it. The door began to vibrate. Seeing that, I stepped backward.

Creak!

The door began to slide open. Through the gap, long, extended tentacles emerged.

A sense of crisis washed over me, and I backed away further to widen the distance. From the other side, an oval-shaped foreign creature covered in tentacles appeared.

"It’s going to be a difficult fight. Don’t hold back from using a different element," the ancient spirit warned.

Hearing that, I did not dare underestimate the creature. The sense of threat it gave off was far greater than anything I had felt on the special battlefield.

I immediately began circulating my bloodline power. A bright blue water force gathered at the tip of my right index finger.

Boom!

I fired at the oval-shaped creature. A bright blue streak of energy shot forward in a straight line, instantly slamming into its body.

Ssshhh!

The beam punctured a hole clean through the creature. Stunned, the oval-shaped beast paused.

"Human, who are you?" the creature spoke.

A chill ran down my spine, and the hairs on my body stood on end. I was not used to hearing foreign creatures speak.

Boom!

Ignoring its words, I launched a barrage of water beams at the creatures. One after another, the boiling beams punctured its massive body, and dark blood began to pour from the wounds.

Boom!

Enraged, the foreign creature erupted with massive dark energy. The bleeding wounds were quickly sealed shut.

Boom!

A second later, the creature lashed out, shooting its long tentacles toward me, each one coated in dark energy.

Seeing that the oval-shaped creature had gotten serious, I knew it would not be easy to defeat with bloodline force alone. I began to combine both my shock force and bloodline force.

Swoosh!

As the tentacles closed in, I evaded the attacks one after another. It was not easy; I had to rely on both my sharp senses and awareness. Otherwise, I would have been hit instantly.

As time passed, the creature only increased the speed of its strikes. It had just begun fighting and clearly hadn’t unleashed its full strength yet.

I, on the other hand, found it increasingly difficult to evade each successive strike. The seniors were right: the foreign creatures and criminals here were formidable.

No average warrior could survive the Night Cell Tower, especially the warriors stationed at the sub-posts, who stood no chance against these threats.

Meanwhile, the ancient spirit remained quiet. The appearance of this oval-shaped foreign creature seemed to have rekindled old memories.

This oval shaped creature was no ordinary elite.
