Chapter 370: She chased him?
Outside, the place drowned in the glamour of the party.
Behind the closed walls, two bodies entangled in passion. Their shadows danced in sync, their fingers intertwining as they consumed each other.
"Ronan... slow..." Ruby rasped as the man pushed into her, "I haven’t... you are my first."
Ronan’s eyes darkened, an almost possessive spark crossing them, "And last, baby. I am going to be your last as well."
He slowed down for her moment before sliding inside her. Their eyes closed as they pressed their foreheads against each other, giving in to the fire that consumed them.
"Ah... slow... I.." Ruby’s eyes teared up.
Ronan kissed the corner of her eyes, wiping away the tears as he whispered, "I can’t slow down... You are killing me. I..."
Despite saying that, he slowed down till Ruby adjusted to him. He grabbed her hips, guiding her till she was fully comfortable before he pushed deeper into her.
As it stormed in the Vermilion City, the candles inside the VIP room extinguished. But the flame between the two people only burned deeper and deeper as their sensual noises filled the room.
...
"Hah..." As Ella alighted from the cab in front of the Eve Mansion, "Now that Ruby is eased into the atmosphere of the party, I can redirect my focus on my Adrian."
She mumbled to herself as she stood in front of the towering mansion.
"Miss Yu."
"Rin," Ella hugged Bertha’s daughter.
"Miss Yu, I thought I wouldn’t see you again... The Second Master, he..." Rin looked like she had a lot to say but in the end, she stayed quiet, "I just saw you from the entrance CCTV and rushed here."
"How is he?" Ella’s brows tugged in concern.
A strange look passed Rin’s face when she heard the question.
"Miss Yu, you should come inside and see for yourself..."
Inside the Eve Mansion, the ambience was absolutely charming, with warm lights and the light notes of music playing in the background.
In the centre of the living room, there was a huge canvas positioned.
Adrian sat on the stool behind, with a couple of paintbrushes in his hand, his eyes focused on the pair of kitten and puppy huddled cozily with each other at a little distance on the table.
"Meow!" Yawning, the kitten jumped off the table and swished her tail before walking away.
Riri, the puppy quickly followed Lala.
"Wait, you two! This is the 56th time you jumped off that table. How is this young master supposed to paint with you two constantly wandering off like that?!" Adrian twisted the paintbrush in his hand, his handsome face revealing a hint of helplessness.
But the pair of kitten and puppy seemed to pay no attention to his ’artistic’ troubles.
Adrian turned to Bertha, "You said they are my pets. I don’t remember having any pets in the past but given my fondness towards them, I probably took these two."
"Yes, Second Ma... Young Master," Bertha quickly changed her form of address.
Two weeks ago, they had been informed about Adrian’s health condition before he was discharged from the hospital. And they had made the necessary arrangements accordingly.
But nobody could have expected things to have changed to this extent, despite all that they were informed of.
The moment they addressed Adrian as ’Second Master’, he questioned it, clearly taking offense as according to him: ’Elder brother takes care of the family, Kade takes care of the company. Why should I be addressed as master? Do you all need etiquette lessons before serving me again?’
"Then, tell me, why do they not listen to a single command of mine?" Adrian looked at the carefree puppy and wilful kitten in astonishment. At times, he even felt like these two disdained him a little and he didn’t know what he did to deserve it.
"Second Young Master, that’s because..." Bertha paused.
Naturally, Riri and Lala had been most pampered by Ella and her absence bothered both the little animals.
As for Adrian, they were close to him before even when he was cold and aloof towards them. But now that he was being so friendly, they avoided him.
"Go on. Tell me the reason," Adrian nodded.
Bertha pursed her lips, not knowing what to say at this point. Even she couldn’t put a finger on what was going on with Riri and Lala.
But she was sure of one thing. Their Second Master had changed completely and this caused not just the animals, but also the humans to be unable to adapt to this sudden change.
"They don’t listen to you because they miss their mother. Isn’t that obvious by now?"
The sound of heels clicking against the floor reverberated in the place.
Adrian paused and tilted his head to the side.
When he saw the woman standing at the entrance, his eyes widened briefly.
Ella had donned a simple navy blue dress, her mid-length hair was pushed in front of one of her shoulders. Her face was adorned in simple makeup and every inch of her mesmerizing features glowed in the warm lights.
Her doe eyes were slightly narrowed as they met with Adrian’s. She did not look away for a second, showing no intent to break eye contact.
His eyes shifted slightly and he caught a hint of the carefree smile on her lightly painted lips.
Against the backdrop of the Eve Mansion garden, it looked like she had stepped straight out of a painting.
The paintbrush in Adrian’s hand slipped a little, "Beautiful..." he mumbled under his breath.
"Ah...? Second Young Master, did you say something?" Bertha recovered from her shock of seeing Ella and turned to Adrian.
Adrian snapped out of his reverie, two red clouds appeared on his handsome face, "Nothing."
The moment Ella entered the living room, two fluffballs moved in a blur.
"Meow..."
"Woof woof!"
Riri and Lala excitedly circled around Ella.
Adrian’s brows twitched slightly, "I made it clear to you in the hospital, didn’t I? Yet, you actually had the audacity to chase me to my mansion."
