Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession

Chapter 349: Adrian is my man

Lilith looked at her with an unwavering smile as she pointed her fingers to the other side, "We can talk there so as to not disturb them."

Ella raised a brow, "It seems like Miss Quinn really loves talking to me when we barely know each other. If I didn’t know better, I would think you are a fan."

Lilith’s eyes darkened as she watched the woman calmly walking away.

Once they were at a distance, Lilith regained her composure again, "Miss Yu, you seemed surprised earlier.’’

Ella met the woman’s gaze, "There is no one here so you don’t have to put on an act, Miss Quinn."

Ella talked in an aloof voice as if she barely cared about anything.

And the lack of reaction from her made Lilith pause for a moment, "I think Ace hasn’t told you about his relations with Lana, has he?"

The light in Ella’s eyes dimmed slightly.

Lilith’s lips curved up, "I thought you’d have figured it out since the day you saw Lana. Didn’t you notice the way Ace looked at her?"

Ella did not say a word.

"Miss Yu, Ace is—"

"My man," Ella looked up at the woman.

Lilith was stunned by her sudden response.

For a moment, one could only hear the sound of gentle breeze between them.

Neither of the women said a word.

"Adrian is my man," Ella repeated calmly, looking at Lilith with a cold gaze, "And I trust him completely. Between us, it’s a hassle to talk about others as we are quite lost in each other when we are together."

Lilith’s composure slipped when those words registered in her mind.

But Ella was far from done.

She took a small step towards her, her eyes twinkling as she smiled at Lilith, "I am sure you’d understand what I am saying when you have such a loving partner in the future. As for now, don’t worry about me and my man. We are doing good."

Lilith’s eyes darkened. Beneath her sleeves, her fingers clenched into fists.

However, Ella did not spare her another glance as she walked away from there.

After 5 minutes, Adrian returned to the car.

The moment he took a seat, his gaze locked onto the girl who was leaning her head against the glass panes, looking out of the window.

"What happened?" Adrian reached out to tuck a few loose strands of her behind her ear.

Ella turned to look at Adrian but she did not say anything immediately.

It was Ji Yan who spoke up, "Miss Yu was waiting for Second Master after she returned from the gardens.’’

The hand that was gently caressing Ella’s hair, paused.

There was a subtle change in the air and Ji Yan froze, realizing that he probably said something wrong.

He raised the partition and stepped on the accelerator.

As the car swerved, Adrian fully tucked Ella’s hair behind her ear, "I..."

Before he could utter another word, a soft palm covered his mouth.

"I trust you," Ella softly whispered.

Adrian froze as the woman leaned towards him and looked straight into his eyes.

"I trust you more than you’d ever know," Ella would be a fool if she had to be swerved by the sight of him standing with another woman.

Two lives were enough to tell her what kind of a man he was. And no Lilith, or Lana could ever change that.

"And Adrian—"

Before Ella could say another word, Adrian captured her lips in a passionate kiss.

...

The next few days, Ella mostly stayed in the Eve Mansion promoting Lilac’s new line of products through her social media and interacting with her followers.

[Oh oh oh! She posted]

[She has gotten prettier!]

[Still looks like a grizzly bear]

[This sister above, are you jealous?]

[An anti-fan?]

[Aren’t you all anti-fans too]

[...]

[We just like her content]

[That’s right, right!]

Chuckling, Ella sat straight and clicked a selfie of herself before she posted it with the caption: For those of you who are in tears from missing me too much ;)

Soon, the comment section was bombarded with all kinds of comments.

[She is so self-obsessed eh!]

[Just look at that cocky face]

[If I was that beautiful, I would be cocky too]

[I mean—]

[Sighs]

[She is just provoking us]

Ella laughed when she saw the comments.

By this point, she had accepted that she had a love and hate relationship with her followers.

As much as they seemed to despise her, they showed support whenever she needed it.

Ella was about to close her phone when a notification popped up on her screen. And within an instant, her brows tugged together.

Headlines after headlines poured in and in all of them remained one face and one name—Esther Yu who was taking the internet by a storm.

The entire place was filled with news of her being launched as the face of an emerging mysterious brand.

After giving it a thought, Ella typed a few keywords in the search bar—Yu Family.

And in the matter of a few seconds, the entire page was filled with headlines of the Yu Family’s topmost deals. The Yu Family was on the rise after the significant losses they suffered in recent times.

Ella locked the phone and the look in her eyes slowly deepened.

...

In the private room of a lavish restaurant.

"Here goes to our successful partnership!" Mo Jun raised a glass of wine in the air.

Ella smiled and raised the glass of juice in return.

Mo Jun arched his brow.

"I am not quite good with alcohol so I will refrain," Ella said, noticing the confusion on his face.

Mo Jun was about to insist but after a look at Ella’s cold gaze, he held himself back.

"It seems like something is bothering you..."

Ella shook her head lightly, "It’s not..."

"Is it about her?" Mo Jun asked suddenly.

Ella was in the middle of picking up the glass of water when she paused and glanced at the man.

Mo Jun downed the alcohol in one swig before he opened his mouth, "It’s fine, you know. Esther is just a part of my past and I have come to terms with how things are. You don’t have to be worried about me."

"I am not worried about you," Truth to be told, Ella did hesitate bringing Esther up in front of Mo Jun intentionally.

Their cooperation and partnership was successful and they could be considered having a winning deal here.

After this entire ordeal with Jennie, Mo Jun seemed to not have much of a sentiment or time left to think about Esther.

But Ella could not let go of the impression she had of him from her previous life.

The man was obsessed with Esther to the point that anybody who said a word against her would become his enemy.

Even with the evidence right in front of him, he would never doubt Esther’s intentions or actions.

"Your sister is undeniably a rising star right now," Mo Jun said, pulling Ella back to present.

"You mean your ex-fiancee is flourishing in her career," Ella said in a similar tone before she took a sip of the water.

The teasing smile on the corners of Mo Jun’s lips stiffened as he glared at her.

Ella shrugged her shoulders.

"It’s Maxwell who is backing her up, isn’t it?" At this point, Mo Jun had come in terms with Esther’s character, more or less.

And he had also heard the rumors of the involvement between Max and Esther.

"No," Ella was certain about it.

In her previous life, the Mo Family had taken at this point because the entire control of the family had shifted into Jennie’s hand post Dean Mo’s death.

So, the one sitting on top of the entertainment industry was the Hill Family.

But that fate was averted in this life. The Mo family still stood unshakeable under the control of the Mo siblings.

And the Hill family was not in a glorious situation.

Despite the affair between Max and Esther, the former would not be as generous enough to risk it all out to help Esther rise overnight.

"With Mr. Hill around, Maxwell doesn’t even have that much power," Mo Jun shook his head, realizing that it did not add up, "The Yu family was down and out. Only someone as influential as Mr. King could flip their fates like this..."
