Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)

Chapter 667: A Dangerous Surprise And Counterattack

Third Person’s POV

It was a demon that had fought all its life, and countless battles had taught it never to underestimate an enemy.

It had survived this long precisely because it never allowed anger or arrogance to cloud its judgment.

Therefore, it had no intention of underestimating this boy, not even for a moment.

Instead, it decided to capitalize on its own advantage rather than fight according to the opponent’s preferred style.

If these strange humans were truly stronger at long-range combat and weaker at close quarters, then it would force this young man into close combat.

A sinister smile slowly spread across the demon’s grotesque face.

With that thought, its walking stance suddenly changed.

The heavy, dragged-out steps it had taken until now had actually been not just for showing off its power or inducing fear in them.

It had actually been to build its momentum, which would cause its aura and power to increase several times over.

It wasn’t merely walking forward to intimidate its enemies or blindly showing off its strength.

This technique was known as the Primeval Demon Ruling Step.

Despite its crude and monstrous appearance, the sheep-headed demon possessed considerable intelligence, and knowing that these enemies were not mere triflings, it had already completed two steps of the technique.

With each completed step, the power accumulated within its body increased dramatically, causing its already terrifying aura to become even more oppressive.

Suddenly, it vanished from its position.

Whoosh!

Its enormous figure blurred.

In the next instant, a huge blue blade suddenly appeared beside the ruined house Ethan had been walking past.

A bone blade emerged from the darkness without warning and swept horizontally toward Ethan.

It was incredibly fast.

More frighteningly, the tremendous power compressed within the blade was so tightly controlled that not even the slightest trace of it leaked into the surroundings, making it truly similar to the blade of an assassin.

Ethan’s impassive pupils shifted toward the incoming attack.

Clang!

An ice broadsword instantly appeared within his hand.

Already infused with his dense ice mana, he immediately raised it beside his body and blocked the incoming bone blade.

But the moment the two weapons collided, Ethan’s eyes widened slightly.

He finally felt the terrifying strength compressed within that seemingly simple strike.

BOOM!

The bone blade slammed into his broadsword.

A violent shower of sparks erupted from the point of impact, while the frozen ground beneath Ethan’s feet shattered.

A crater nearly three meters wide appeared where he had been standing.

The tremendous force traveled through his arms and violently surged into his body.

The sheep-headed demon was shocked.

It had expected this arrogant creature to be crushed beneath its strike, reduced to nothing more than an unrecognizable pile of flesh.

But Ethan was not unscathed either, as he couldn’t completely withstand the remaining force.

His bones creaked under the tremendous pressure, while his muscles trembled violently as the shockwave continued battering his body.

Rather than stubbornly resist and suffer even greater injuries, he redirected the most dangerous portion of the impact into the ground before allowing the remaining force to send his body flying backward.

BOOM!

His body crashed through one of the ruined houses.

The structure collapsed around him, but the force behind the attack didn’t stop there.

Ethan continued flying backward.

BOOM!

Another house shattered.

Then another.

Only after crashing through three ruined buildings in succession did his body finally come to a halt.

Blood flowed from his nose and the corner of his mouth, staining his clothes.

Several small tears had appeared across his already tough skin as the tremendous impact damaged his muscles and ruptured some of his veins.

Red stains rapidly spread across his clothes, dyeing his entire body in blood and making him look as though he had just taken a bloodbath.

Pain surged through his mind, while the blood filling his eyes made his mind go hazy, yet Ethan’s expression didn’t change.

His eyes had merely widened slightly as a single thought surfaced within his mind.

’It’s strong!’

He hadn’t accounted for the power of the Primeval Demon Ruling Step in his calculations, as he hadn’t even known that such a monstrous technique existed in this demon’s repertoire.

And after only two steps, that unknown demonic technique had already amplified the demon’s speed and physical strength by roughly three times.

That alone was enough to make the sheep demon’s physical strength far exceed Ethan’s expectations.

Yet instead of fear, Ethan’s crimson eyes seemed to be filled with a crazed glint.

Excitement surged through him.

Finally.

He had encountered a worthy opponent.

The stronger this demon was, the more satisfying it would be to completely crush it beneath his blade.

The moment this thought appeared in his mind, an afterimage suddenly flashed beside his battered figure.

A huge bone blade pierced toward his head.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed, but this time he was prepared for this move.

Instead of retreating, he suddenly grinned.

He twisted his body and rolled across the ground in a swift motion.

PSSH!

The bone blade stabbed into the hard ground, narrowly missing his head.

Ethan immediately sprang back onto his feet.

Using the nearby wall as a foothold, he jumped onto it and pushed himself upward.

His ice broadsword was raised high above his head.

Then, with a wild glint flashing through his crimson eyes, he brought it down with all the physical strength his body could muster.

BOOM!

The ferocious strike descended like a falling mountain.

The sheep-headed demon was genuinely caught off guard.

It had already considered Ethan nothing more than a human possessing a somewhat stronger body than his peers, someone it could eventually slaughter as long as it maintained its relentless assault while its physical strength remained amplified.

But Ethan wasn’t some sheltered greenhouse mage who could only launch long ranged attacks.

The demon’s other bone blade immediately rose to block the descending broadsword.

It intended to withstand the attack with one blade and use the other to counterattack.

But the instant the weapons collided, its eyes widened.
