Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)

Chapter 666: Facing the Demon

Third Person’s POV

Seeing Ethan openly summon Arlene, while Arlene obediently hurried toward him without the slightest hesitation, clearly established that there was a special connection between his supposed rival, the princess who was currently traveling with the opposing group.

The sight made Erius feel humiliated.

What made it worse were the gazes that immediately fell upon him.

Misril’s expression was filled with bewilderment, while Pebba and Reed exchanged looks that carried an unmistakable hint of amusement.

It felt as though they were silently mocking him for allowing someone who was supposed to be his party member and protector to openly maintain such a connection with Princess Arlene.

Misril’s eyes, meanwhile, seemed to become completely frosted over as he stared at Ethan.

His previous dissatisfaction with Ethan had already been growing throughout their journey, and now it had reached another level.

In his heart, Ethan had practically become a traitor of some sort.

He had joined Prince Erius’s group, yet he was openly maintaining contact with Princess Arlene, the prince’s political enemy.

Before anyone could say anything, however, a deep, ghastly roar suddenly echoed from behind Ethan.

ROOOAR!

The sound shook the ruined city.

A bone-chilling murderous aura immediately spread outward, permeating nearly half of the surrounding area.

The atmosphere seemed to be dyed blood red, as a terrifying pressure descended upon everyone.

Many people’s blood almost seemed to freeze beneath that suffocating aura, and terror instinctively welled up within their hearts.

All their thoughts about Ethan, the prince, and the princess vanished, though Edhan was one of the few exceptions.

He immediately turned around.

His eyes narrowed as he saw a huge, muscular sheep-headed demon slowly walking toward them.

Its severed arm that Ethan had cut away earlier had surprisingly regenerated completely.

Not even a scar remained upon its shoulder.

Its flat red irises burned with bloodthirst and rage, while twin bone swords were tightly gripped within its hands.

With every step it took, the bloody and suffocating aura surrounding it became heavier.

There was something filthy within that aura that made even breathing uncomfortable.

The demon’s bloody gaze remained fixed upon Ethan, and it seemed to completely disregard everyone else.

Edhan’s eyes gradually became more serious, yet instead of fear, a strange excitement began rising within him.

Streaks of white lightning seemed to dance within his lightning blue eyes, while the blood in his body seemed to heat rather than freeze beneath the demon’s frightening pressure.

’Where did this creature come from?

It doesn’t seem like something that should exist within such a desolate ice realm.

Its appearance would be more fitting for the demons of the Blood Veil Continent, but I have never seen records of such a huge demon with such monstrous features.’

His thoughts moved rapidly as he continued examining the creature.

Then his lips slowly curved upward.

’Well, who cares anyway?

Finally, I can fight a worthy opponent.’

White lightning sparks began dancing across his palms.

The excitement of finally encountering a powerful opponent was becoming difficult for him to suppress.

Edhan was just about to step forward when a bone-chilling voice suddenly sounded from behind him.

"That piece of shit is my prey."

Edhan stopped, and his eyebrows furrowed as he slowly turned around.

A hint of anger appeared within his eyes at the audacity of someone speaking to him in such a manner.

But the moment he saw who had spoken, his expression changed slightly.

Arlene was already escorting the two injured women toward the rest of her group.

Behind her, Ethan slowly walked forward.

His long violet hair fluttered gently in the cold wind, while his crimson eyes remained fixed upon the sheep demon.

There was no visible aura surrounding him.

He didn’t exude terrifying pressure, or ny sort of overwhelming killing intent.

Yet somehow, the sight of him made Edhan’s expression gradually become serious.

Ethan’s face was completely impassive.

The fury and resentment that had previously burned within him hadn’t disappeared.

He had simply compressed them into something far more controlled.

He seemed to have converted his anger into razor sharp focus.

There was only one objective left within his mind.

Kill the creature that had dared to hurt his family.

Edhan stared at him for several seconds, and then he slowly stepped back.

The faintest trace of a smile appeared upon his previously indifferent face.

’He is dangerous.’

That was his immediate evaluation of Ethan.

And after understanding that this matter was personal, Edhan didn’t interfere or stubbornly insist on fighting the demon himself.

Instead, he quietly withdrew.

He had no reason to steal another person’s prey, especially when that person had just displayed such terrifying speed and precision.

More importantly, something told Edhan that the battle about to unfold would be far more interesting than anything he could have expected.

Especially because the violet-haired young man standing before him was someone he hadn’t even bothered to properly look at earlier.

Now, however, he couldn’t help looking forward to seeing exactly what this mysterious young man was capable of.

Seeing the violet-haired young man step forward, the sheep-headed demon immediately recognized him from the aura surrounding his body.

This was the damned creature who had inflicted that injury upon it just as it had been about to capture those two whores.

The memory caused its anger to rise even further, but it didn’t attack recklessly in its fury.

It remembered that previous attack clearly, and it understood that this young man was completely different from those two women.

From everything it had observed over the past few hours, these strange humans who had suddenly entered this desolate realm in large numbers seemed particularly skilled at launching long-ranged attacks, while their close-combat abilities appeared considerably weaker.

Other than those two women, it had already killed several other creatures like them who had inadvertently wandered into the ruined city.

Even that deadly spear attack that had severed its arm had been a long-ranged attack.

The demon’s yellow eyes, gleaming with scarlet rays, flickered with understanding as it carefully analyzed everything it had observed.
