Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)

Chapter 662: Dragon Tooth

Third Person’s POV

That secret was something she couldn’t casually disclose.

But there was an urgency in her voice that made Edhan realize she wasn’t speaking without reason.

He studied her for a moment before finally nodding.

"Then let’s go."

Arlene’s heart finally relaxed slightly.

As the group of four made their way down the steep cliff they had just emerged from, Arlene quietly slipped her hand into her spatial ring and took out a small, sharp beast tooth.

At first glance, the beast tooth seemed completely ordinary.

There was nothing particularly remarkable about it. It wasn’t glowing, nor did it radiate any powerful aura that could make someone immediately recognize it as a precious magical treasure.

For a moment, Arlene even wondered whether this strange object would truly work the way he had claimed it would.

However, she knew that this was the only reliable method she currently had to contact him.

She took a slow breath and concentrated a portion of her soul sense into the tooth.

The moment she did so, the strange tooth suddenly reacted.

It was as though an invisible force had instantly latched onto her soul sense and begun sucking it inside.

Arlene’s expression changed.

She felt dizzy almost immediately, and her vision blurred as an intense sensation of disorientation assaulted her mind.

She instinctively stopped walking.

The sudden action caused the others to look back at her, and Edhan, Reed, and Pebba also slowed down and stopped when they noticed something was wrong.

But Arlene was in no state to care about their gazes.

Her entire attention was focused on the strange sensation occurring within her mind.

Her soul sense seemed to have entered a peculiar tunnel filled with blinding lights.

Everything around her appeared distorted.

There was no clear sense of direction, distance, or even time.

For one moment, she felt as though she had been traveling through that strange tunnel for an eternity.

Yet in the next instant, it felt as though not even a single second had passed.

The contradictory sensation made her dizzy and confused.

But it was then that her soul sense suddenly emerged from that strange tunnel.

Arlene’s eyes widened in shock as she found herself directly facing none other than Ethan.

The violet-haired young man was currently walking across a narrow mountain pass, seemingly unaware that someone had suddenly appeared before him.

Arlene didn’t waste even a moment.

Knowing how serious the situation involving those two women was, Arlene immediately transmitted everything she needed to tell Ethan through her soul sense.

She didn’t mention her master’s involvement, nor did she reveal the fact that she possessed the soul auras of the two women.

Instead, she simply told him that she had discovered a violet-haired woman who looked remarkably familiar to him, accompanied by another red-haired woman in the academy square this morning.

She presumed they were most likely related to him and informed him that both appeared to be in serious danger.

She also directly transmitted their approximate location to him.

However, she deliberately left out how she had obtained their whereabouts.

There was no time for unnecessary explanations, and she intended to let this be a coincidence.

The moment the information reached Ethan, Arlene’s already strained soul sense was completely exhausted.

Her connection with him immediately began to collapse.

The last thing she managed to see before being pulled away was Ethan’s shocked expression.

Then the same strange sensation of being dragged through that blinding tunnel returned.

Her soul sense was rapidly sucked backward, crossing the vast distance between them before finally returning to her body.

Arlene’s body trembled slightly.

The moment her mind stabilized, she bent forward and began panting heavily.

Her heart was beating rapidly from both exhaustion and shock.

That feeling...

There was no mistake.

It was definitely some kind of spatial travel, or, more accurately, only a portion of her soul sense had traveled across space.

The tooth had somehow allowed her soul sense to bridge the enormous distance between them, temporarily overcoming the limitations of the three dimensional world itself.

Just how extraordinary was this treasure?

Arlene couldn’t help looking down at the small tooth still hidden within her hand.

She hadn’t taken it out for anyone to see from the beginning until now.

This seemingly ordinary beast tooth had been given to her by Ethan yesterday in the evening, shortly before they had parted ways outside the academy gates.

At that time, he had simply smiled and handed it to her, telling her that if she ever encountered an emergency where she needed his help, she could use this seemingly ordinary beast tooth to contact him.

At the time, Arlene hadn’t thought too much about it, and she had simply assumed that Ethan had given her some unusual communication treasure.

Now, however, she realized just how extraordinary it actually was.

"Are you alright, Arlene?"

Edhan’s voice suddenly pulled her out of her thoughts.

He was looking at her with a slight frown, having clearly noticed how pale her face had become and how heavily she was breathing.

Arlene quickly composed herself and nodded.

"I’m fine."

She didn’t explain what had happened.

Edhan continued looking at her for a few moments, seemingly waiting for her to elaborate, but when he realized that she had no intention of saying anything else, he didn’t pry.

He simply nodded before turning his attention back toward the path ahead.

Arlene quietly placed the tooth back into her spatial ring.

Her expression remained calm on the outside.

But inside, her thoughts were already focused on one thing: that he had received her warning.

Now, everything depended on how quickly he could reach them.

Meanwhile, somewhere within the precarious mountains, Ethan’s heavy ice sword flashed through the air.

Swish!

The massive ice centipede in front of him was cleanly sliced into two.

The moment its body separated, an intense cold spread through both halves, instantly freezing them solid before even a single drop of blood could escape onto the snow.
