Zoren and Old Mrs. Pierson sat in her room. Unlike the lively energy she had shown around Penny, Old Mrs. Pierson now wore a stern, determined look.
"Renren, I know you and my dearest Penelope have been trying for the past five years," she began seriously. "Though you haven’t been blessed yet, I think this needs more than prayers."
Zoren raised an eyebrow as Old Mrs. Pierson snapped her fingers. At her signal, a servant on standby approached, carrying a tray, and placed it on the table between them. The servant carefully poured tea into a cup and set it in front of Zoren.
"Renren, this is no ordinary tea!" Old Mrs. Pierson declared. "This tea will help you tonight."
"And how is it supposed to help me?" he asked.
Old Mrs. Pierson grinned. "It’s good for the body and your... performance. Since you’ve been ill and taken so much medication throughout your life, this will cleanse your system. It’ll also, ah... get you in the mood."
"I don’t need it," Zoren replied flatly, batting his eyelashes softly. "I’m always in the mood."
His comment caused the servant to blush and quickly turn her head away.
"That’s not what I meant!" Old Mrs. Pierson waved her hand irritably. "Tsk, tsk. This is why I say you’re still too innocent."
