The announcer’s voice crackled from the loudspeaker, making people glance up as the loud voice rose above the chatter and giggles that filled the field. "Next up, the highlight of today’s event: The Family Relay! Where the father carries the mother and child!"

Aaron tilted his head toward the speaker, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Did he just say carry?" he asked, his head tilted while arching a brow in amusement as he glanced over at Katherine, whose eyes widened.

Katherine whipped her head to the announcer, then to Aaron’s smug look, then took a step back. She blinked, her lips parting slightly in disbelief. "I’m not that light!" she gasped, her hands on her chest.

Aaron smirked, then rolled his sleeves, as his fingers worked the first two buttons of his shirt, revealing his toned chiseled chest, and Katherine gulped with reddened cheeks.

"You’re perfect, babe," he said smoothly, flashing her a grin as he flexed his arm dramatically, biceps bulging beneath his rolled-up sleeve. "Besides, all my morning jogs and exercise won’t be futile if I ain’t able to carry my family," he said, flashing that teasing smirk that made her heart beat stupidly fast.

Katherine could feel her cheeks warming as she shifted on her feet nervously, looking at the crowd shyly. "Stop it," she hissed in a low tone. "People are watching."

Aaron grinned boyishly, his dimple revealed, "Let them, babe." He shrugged, unbothered. He didn’t care, in as much as he’d be able to be closer to Katherine, feel her heartbeat on his back.

"Seriously, Aaron, I’m not—"
