Chapter 16 - 15: Menstrual cramps
Haruno’s condition immediately caught Roland’s attention. He quickly moved closer to her.
Roland clearly remembered that Haruno had been perfectly fine during dinner, her Health Value above 95—higher than her mother.
How could it have plummeted to the safety threshold of 60 after just one meal? Could the food have been poisoned?
That’s impossible! He had prepared the meal himself!
"Big sister Haruno, what’s wrong?" Roland quickly dismissed his wild thoughts and urgently asked about her condition. No matter what, he had to prevent her Health Value from dropping below 60. Once it did, it would mean her body had suffered some kind of damage.
"I... I’m fine," Haruno said stubbornly, her face contorted in pain as she clutched her stomach.
"Is this fine? Why are you still trying to tough it out? What if something serious happens? If you don’t tell me, I’ll go find Aunt Yukio myself," Roland said, frowning slightly. You’re in this much pain and you still call it "fine"? Do you think I’m an idiot?
Roland couldn’t bear to watch any longer. He quickly pulled Haruno into his arms, hoping to alleviate her pain through this gesture.
"Saying it... won’t help," Haruno said, slightly surprised by his embrace but not resisting.
"You won’t know unless you try."
"Menstrual cramps. Now do you understand, idiot?"
