As midnight approached, Roland found himself in a difficult situation. Pressured by Yukio, he had no choice but to sleep in Haruno’s room that night, a situation that filled him with dread.
If he and Haruno were actually dating, sleeping together wouldn’t be so bad. He could simply take responsibility afterward.
The problem was their fake relationship. How awkward would it be to share a bed under these circumstances?
Still, there was a solution. He could pretend to enter Haruno’s room and sneak out later, perfectly avoiding Aunt Yukio’s demand.
The only risk was that Aunt Yukio might anticipate his trick and wait outside her daughter’s door. For safety’s sake, Roland abandoned this plan and opted for his second strategy: sleeping on the sofa.
Aunt Yukio’s house was a mansion, so big s
ister Haruno’s room was fully equipped with amenities, including a sofa.
The sofa was a bit small, and sleeping on it might be uncomfortable, but it was far better than the awkwardness of sharing a bed.
Having made his decision, Roland knocked on Haruno’s door.
"Big sister Haruno, I’m coming in," Roland said politely, knocking on the door, anxious to avoid barging in and catching her changing again.
Though, to be fair, he had knocked last time too, and still walked in on her.
