Chapter 101: Saintess
Everywhere slowly returned back to normal. Aric found himself on his knees inside the manor, his body dripped with sweat and trembled.
He didn’t know why this happened. What he had seen was not remotely scary, but his heart raced, pounding so hard that his ribs hurt. His breathing was all over the place.
He opened his mouth wide, trying to breathe well, sucking in every bit of air that he could to survive.
’Wha... what was that, who was that?" he asked, as his body heaved up and down. He didn’t know how he was able to see that woman, or if it was something that the system did, but he wanted to know who she was—he needed to know.

Far away, within a mighty temple at the top of a mountain, a woman clad in fine white clothes could be seen, a black scarf wrapped around her neck. The ends of the scarf fluttered in the wind, flowing in the same direction as her silver waist-length hair.
Her beautiful silver eyes gazed into the distance, with no target in sight. She stared into the endless. Her hand rubbed against the base of the long sword that hung on her waist.
Suddenly, her eyes darkened into pure darkness, and she saw a crimson glow sprout in the distance—a rising flame that defied the odds around it.
The flame existed in the nothing and slowly forced its light into the darkness, trying to grow beyond what it should. The light sought to defy the balance, striving to break free from what already was.
She frowned as she saw this light, her eyes closing into slits, her fingers caressing the base of her sword ferociously.
