Chapter 91: You have to learn
The warm glow of the torches in the wall flickered, casting a warm glow over the room. Everyone was already seated around the table, all waiting for Aric.
His footsteps as he walked into the room pulled their attention. With Elisa and Gorin behind him, he walked in. His eyes lingered on the torches on the wall; he frowned.
It was not that he realized that he had failed to provide good lighting, and they were stuck using this method. But this was in no way true or proper. They would need to start making lamps, and that would require him to make glass.
He pulled his gaze away from the force and walked to his chair. Elisa pulled her chair out and sat down, while Aric stood beside his chair, with Gorin standing behind him.
"Before we commence this meeting, I’d like all of you to meet Gorin. You might have all seen him, but this is the first time outside a fight that you are seeing him.
Going forward, Gorin will be in charge of our military force here. He’ll train and watch anyone that is part of the fighting force here.
I want you all to put aside whatever differences may exist and accept him as an equal," Aric said.
The table fell quiet, so much that the creaking of insects outside sounded loud.
"If you have decided that he is worth trusting, then I don’t see why not, Master," Unara said.
"I would have loved to counter what Unara said, but I’ve seen his strength and I know he’ll make a great addition," Pentharis said.
