Chapter 249: Help You Forget
After leaving the hospital, Enzo returned to their apartment. He was still burdened by the revelation. He didn’t know if Alice’s feelings for him were just part of her deception.
Enzo wanted to forget it so he decided to drown himself with alcoholic drinks. He bought several bottles of beer and drank them as if he was just drinking water.
He reminisced about the moments he had spent with Alice over the past five years. She had become his hero and pillar of support. But he never expected that she was just doing those things because of the mission given to her by Dominique.
’Is this the reason why she keeps on rejecting my marriage proposal? She doesn’t love me for real.’ Enzo could only think of this conclusion.
As he kept chugging on his drink, someone popped up in his mind. It was Lanny. He needed someone to talk to at this moment.
Without further ado, Enzo dialed Lanny’s contact number.
Lanny had just finished preparing the food for the kids when she noticed Enzo’s phone call. She let Dmitri accompany Kimmy and Aaron to the dining area, and she excused herself as she went to answer the phone.
"Hello, Enzo? What’s up?"
There was a moment of silence for a few seconds before she heard Enzo’s hoarse voice.
"Lanny... can I see you right now? Are you available?"
Lanny was taken aback for a moment as she noticed something strange in Enzo’s voice. Did something wrong happen to him?
"Okay. Where are you?" Lanny asked him worriedly.
