Vladimir gazed down, unable to look at Athena. He knew that he didn’t have the right to get mad or jealous. Athena could date any man she wanted.
Meanwhile, Athena just stayed silent, observing Vladimir. She didn’t know what to say to console him.
’He is acting like this because of Ashton. How much more if he finds out I’m interacting with Dominique?’ Athena mused to herself.
She felt guilty and sorry for Vladimir. This was one of the reasons why she was hesitant to accept his feelings.
’I’m not deserving of him. I will only cause him some shame. And I don’t think he will be able to accept me once he learns the truth. But I have to do these indecent things for the sake of my revenge.’ Athena took a deep sigh.
"Yes, V. You are right. I’m doing this because of my revenge. I don’t have feelings for Ashton. I’m just using him," she explained.
"Am I not good enough, Athena? Can’t you just rely on me? Can’t you just use me?" There was a hint of sadness in his voice.
"I don’t want you to do things that are against your will. How can I protect you if you won’t allow me to get involved?"
Vladimir couldn’t bear to see her with another man, even if it was just an act.
Athena held his hands, squeezing them gently to comfort him.
"V... This is one of the reasons why... I don’t want you to wait for me... After my revenge, I will never be the same Athena that you know."
