Chapter 156: Enzo’s Revelation
"Huh? What made you think that our fath–"
Athena didn’t finish her sentence because Lanny pinched her leg. She almost said ’our father’, a slip of the tongue. Fortunately, Lanny reminded her.
"Who gave you that idea?" Athena questioned Enzo.
Enzo hesitated, contemplating whether he should tell them what he heard from Dominique or not.
"Dominique told me that my father killed his family, that’s why he devised a revenge plan against our family."
"Huh? Is that true?" Lanny exclaimed in disbelief.
Athena fell silent for a moment, trying to process Enzo’s words.
’Killing his family? No. I don’t believe this. Though our father is strict, he won’t kill anyone. Our father is not evil. He might be mistaken about this. Our father would never do that.’ Athena refused to believe it.
But part of her was wondering if there was truth in it.
’Is this really the reason for betraying me? For acquiring the company? Is his resentment toward our family rooted in this?’ Athena was having conflicting thoughts about it.
"I’m certain... this might be a misunderstanding. Your father would never do that. And for what reason?" Athena defended her father, believing that Albert Williams was not a murderer.
"Don’t believe his lies and excuses!" Lanny also butted in, supporting Athena’s claim.
