Chapter 143: A Wise Woman
Athena had mixed emotions after hearing about Meona’s sudden visit. Previously, she was very close to her Aunt. Since her mother died when she was still young, Meona served as her second mother.
’I wonder if Aunt is also aware of the conspiracy between Dominique and Uncle Alfonso.’ Athena mused to herself, hoping that Meonah remained the sweet and loving Aunt she had known.
"Athena, believe me. This spells trouble. But don’t worry I got your back." Sasha gently patted her shoulder.
Then she turned to Bella. "Invite her in. We will talk here."
"But Director Smith, Madam Meona would like to talk to Miss Athena alone. She is waiting in the pool area’s resto."
The pool area was located near the studio where they were going to do the video shoot.
"No. I can’t leave our precious artist. I should accompany her. Her safety is my responsibility," Sasha insisted.
Athena and Lanny met each other’s gaze, sending secret signals using their eyes.
"I will leave Athena in your care then, Director Smith. I hope you will protect her from any potential harm," Lanny mumbled, her eyes sparkling with humor.
She couldn’t conceal her smile because she was having fun while seeing Sasha taking Athena’s sides. They completely fooled their enemy.
"Let’s go, Athena... don’t be nervous. If you can’t handle her, I’ll step up for you." Sasha grabbed Athena’s hand, escorting her out of the dressing room.
The two ladies headed to the resto. They saw Meona sitting at the corner table, leisurely taking a sip of her tea.
