Chapter 78: Unforgivable Sins
"It’s Dominique..."
Athena’s face turned pale and her body froze when she heard Dominique’s name. This was so sudden. Why did Dominique drop by Gael’s place? Did he know that she was there?
"Why is he here?" Athena finally found her voice to speak up. "There is no way he knows I’m here. Do you think his men are still monitoring you, Gael?" Anxiety crept into Athena’s voice as she contemplated the implications. She needed to be cautious. Being seen with Gael could jeopardize her cover.
Gael approached Athena, holding her shoulders to calm her down. "Sabby, relax. Maybe he just needs something from me. He can’t see you here. Just stay inside the house and don’t leave. Lock the door. I’ll talk to him outside."
Athena just bobbed her head. She watched Gael’s back as he headed to the door. Dominique rang the doorbell once more. She traced her steps toward the video intercom to see what was happening outside the gate.
She braced herself as she watched Gael confronting Dominique. The two men were now standing in front of the gate.
"What brings you here, Mr. Smith?" Gael asked him in his indifferent tone. He didn’t hide his displeasure toward Dominique.
Without hesitation, Dominique grabbed Gael by the shoulders, his grip firm as he demanded answers.
"Gael! Where is Sabrina?! Are you hiding her from me?! Please tell me. Is she still alive?!!" Dominique violently shook Gael’s body.
Gael’s pulse quickened as he felt Dominique’s grip tighten. He swallowed hard, meeting Dominique’s intense gaze. He was stupefied when he heard the desperation in Dominique’s voice.
