Chapter 58: Offers
*Two Days Later...*
[ At Athena’s Penthouse... ]
Athena and Lanny sat comfortably on the balcony, each holding a steaming cup of coffee which the aroma mingling with the fresh air.
"So how’s your stay in Fortuna Grande? Do you feel refreshed now?" Lanny asked her friend.
Athena nodded with a smile, her gaze wandering to the city skyline stretching out before them. "I had fun with my brother, celebrating the Lantern Festival and touring around the island. Fortuna Grande is a very nice island, a perfect place to unwind."
Lanny took a thoughtful sip of her coffee before asking another question. "Have you met her? What is your impression of her?" She failed to control her curiosity about Enzo’s new girlfriend.
Athena set her cup down, turning her attention back to her friend. "Lanny, before I answer, I want to hear something from you first. Were you affected after knowing my brother had a girlfriend? Did you get jealous?"
Lanny bobbed her head, the look in her eyes turning solemn. "I don’t want to admit it but... Yes, I felt a little bit jealous. He is off-limits now. How can I ask him to meet the end of our deal?"
Athena chuckled when she heard that. She gently patted Lanny’s back and said, "Honestly, Alice is not bad. She’s so sweet and caring. No wonder my brother fell in love with her. But... if you will ask me, I will still continue rooting for both of you."
Lanny grinned with gratitude as she leaned back, her eyes fixed on the sky. "Stop being biased. Don’t get me wrong, my dear friend. I’m not hoping to marry your brother. I simply wish for him to provide me with a male heir. That’s all I want from him."
