Chapter fifty-seven

When I first woke up, my head felt like someone had taken a hammer to it. I blinked at the unfamiliar greyish and cream walls, panic creeping up my throat. This wasn’t my room.
I sat up too fast and immediately regretted it. A wave of nausea hit me, followed by a splitting headache that made me clutch my skull and groan.
Where was I? How did I get here?
I tried to remember last night, but everything after those drinks at the party was a complete blank. My stomach twisted with dread as I glanced around.
Where was this place and how in the world did I get here? Another wave of fear shot through me, had I been kidnapped?
Oh god!
My mother wouldn’t have the ransom money, will I end up dead and my organs sold off?
The bed and a wardrobe were the only pieces of furniture in the room, but it was nothing like what a kidnapped victim’s room should look like.
That’s when I noticed my nakedness. Oh shit!
I was only in my underwear!
