Oliver’s warmth left my arms as I placed him on the bed of Vince’s guestroom apartment where I’d been staying all these days. He’d fallen asleep on my back and didn’t even flinch during the entire car ride to this place.
Taking him back to his house felt like the wrong idea; my own house was out of the question, too, with my mother there, who knew how many endless questions she was going to ask?
If I were honest with myself, I’d admit that I just wanted to spend more time with him.
Vince’s place was the best option. He’d disappeared somewhere at the party anyway, and probably wouldn’t be back until morning. I really needed to consider getting my own place.
Ollie’s face was still flushed from the alcohol, his brown hair tousled from the outside wind earlier, even like this, dishevelled and reeking of booze, he was the most beautiful thing my eyes had ever come across.
I still couldn’t wrap my head around how he’d ended up at that party in the first place. Oliver didn’t do parties, especially not ones like that. He was supposed to be at home, safe in his bed, not dancing half-naked with strangers.
I sat on the edge of the bed, just watching him sleep. His breathing was steady, which was good. No signs of alcohol poisoning, just a kid who’d had too much to drink.
I leaned closer, catching the smell of unfamiliar cologne mixed with Oliver’s familiar scent. My mind flashed to that fucking stranger he had been dancing with.
That bastard had left his disgusting cologne on my Oliver’s skin. My fingers trembled as I grabbed Oliver’s jaw, turning his head to the other, my eyes scanning for other places where he had probably touched him.
