"Hmm, I got this drug from a trusted source. It should be potent enough without lethal risks of killing someone," Angel mused for a moment. "But I guess we need to test it first."
"Test it? Will you be the one to drink it?" Jon asked
"Are you kidding me? I am too old to drink something that might give me a heart attack," Angel replied, clicking her tongue. She then turned her gaze towards Olga, who had been silently standing behind Jon. A malicious idea crossed her mind, and she pointed at Olga. "Why don’t we try it on that ugly assistant of yours?"
Olga gasped. She took a step back instinctively, facing the witch with a malicious smirk, "I—I don’t want to—"
"You have no right to object," Angel stated coldly. "You’re just a mere assistant and an ugly one at that. I’ve been feeling angry lately because my fiance treats me like air, so I don’t need anyone making me even more pissed."
"Your fiancee is Lancelot Grant’s big brother, right? The CEO of Silver Line," Jon interjected.
"Yes, and Madeline Rose has him under her spell," Angel said. "Lance recently invited him to attend Madeline’s fashion show, and he has been in high spirits because he can’t wait to see Madeline on the runway."
"Men are the same in the end," Angel scoffed. "Just because Madeline Rose is prettier, perkier, and younger than me, it’s easy for him to ignore me. He doesn’t remember that I was more beautiful than her when I was young!"
Jon kept his mouth shut, silently observing the woman before him.
While he might have believed her if she only said she was beautiful when she was younger, Jon couldn’t help but sneer inwardly when she compared herself to Madeline Rose.
