Chapter 148
Lance was ready to attack Theodore with many cold, hard truths, in case he wanted to reject his proposal again.
But Theodore unexpectedly said yes, and now Lance was caught unprepared because he didn’t know what to do after this.
"A—Are you sure, Mr. Grant?" the board of directors and shareholders asked, as they didn’t want to make a mistake that would anger Theodore.
"The idea is perfect. I can’t nitpick anything for this one," Theodore said. "So let him decide how this TV show project will go next. I’ll only interrupt if I see something wrong with the progress."
Lance said nothing, but he eyed his big brother on full guard, not knowing what kind of shit Theodore would pull next.
But Theodore seemed to have lost interest after he approved the idea. He got up from his chair and said, "Since there’s nothing else I need to approve, I’ll leave first. I have a lot to do in my company."
Theodore walked out of the meeting room, and Lance chased after him. "What do you want to do, Theo?" Lance asked, full of suspicion.
Theodore halted his steps and turned around, facing his stubborn and stupid little brother.
"I found the idea that you pitched to be perfect for Madeline and Zane, and the title is good. I can’t nitpick anything," Theodore replied. "But let’s see, knowing you, you’d eventually fucked up somewhere along the line and lost the chance to hit it big."
"And remember that you’re the worst out of all of us. You will screw up eventually, and I will seize everything in the end." Theodore turned around and walked away from Lance. "And by then, you can just be a trust fund wastrel for the rest of your life. It’s what you deserve."
Lance clenched his fists as he stared at his big brother’s back.
He knew that he would always be the family’s dark horse, and he never tried to refute anyone about it.
