Chapter 34
Madeline frowned.
"Lance... set this up? Don’t kid me. He won’t do that," Madeline said.
"Well, you can ask our Director or even the Producer, Miss Valerie, about it. They will say the same thing," the Assistant Director shrugged. "I mean, no offense, Miss. I hope you’re well prepared for what will come next."
Madeline felt a shiver down her spine once she sensed the Assistant Director was not lying.
’No, there is no way that Lance would set me up like that, right? ’ Madeline tried to rationalize this situation as she didn’t want to think badly of Lance. ’Maybe there’s a misunderstanding or miscommunication, so I got a disadvantage instead of a benefit.’
Madeline tried to calm her panicking heart, but she couldn’t. So she tried to text Lance with her phone because she knew this would be the last time she could use it for the entire month, since Lance told her nobody could use their phone while the show was ongoing.

Lance, they told me that you’ve set me up to come a day later than the other cast members.
There must be a mistake, right? Because this means that I will be put in the spotlight because I don’t know anybody yet.

Madeline clicked send immediately and waited until Lance finally texted back.
She thought that he would apologize and try to fix things.
