Peter and Barnabas were sitting in the front row. She bowed her head as tears dripped on her hand. Leander was sitting by her side, silently watching everyone. He held her hand sensing that she was crying.
"Do you want to leave?" he whispered in her ear. "I’ll send you home."
He cannot bring her home with him. His presence will be needed here. But he can send her home and find some excuse to tell the guests.
"I’m fine," she wiped her eyes. "It won’t look good if I leave now."
If she wanted to humiliate the Kastello family, she would do that. But she did not want to humiliate her husband. She will make sure everyone knows that Leander has an obedient wife. Otherwise, those misogynistic men would think low of Leander.
She will not let anyone think low of her husband.
Barnabas with a content smile rubbed his lips. Just like he wanted, he got the news channels to cover Evander’s funeral. Not much was revealed except that Evander died suddenly and peacefully in his home.
