Chapter 259: The Last Hope
A couple of days passed with Viviana taking bed rest. The doctor suggested it and she had no qualms following it as rest is needed to replenish her body.
The pain subsided on the third day and she was greatly relieved. But her mind was confused with various thoughts.
Leander would be talking to her all the time. But maybe that day he was busy, he didn’t talk to her. She was feeling numb; like she has lost something so important to her.
Maybe she did.
Or she might have turned crazy and is thinking that something that cannot happen to her, happened to her.
Either way, she decided to clear her doubts.
She cannot handle the feeling of loss when she was unsure whether she lost it or not. It was more and more confusing.
She got to the garden and stood in front of the lemon sapling. The leaves had a nice color to them and Viviana noticed a new leaf budding. It was so pretty and perfect—the beautiful light green, almost white, little leaf proving that this world is teeming with life.
"Pull it out," she told the gardener.
The gardener was stunned. He looked at Katerina. Katerina slightly shook her finger.
"Signora, this plant has rooted here. It will flourish here. I don’t understand why..." he gulped as Viviana stared at him blankly. He looked terrified.
"I don’t like a lemon tree here. This place would be perfect with a footpath. Move it there..." She pointed near the wall.
