Chapter 81: A Glimmer of Hope
Leander opened the door and Viviana was surprised to see Doctor Nathan. The moment Leander’s eyes ended up on Nathaniel, he knelt down. Katerina was standing behind him and not knowing what was happening, she covered her mouth with her hands.
"What did you do?" she slapped Nathaniel’s back as tears formed in her eyes. "What did you do, son?"
"Ma, it’s...nothing. I just have to tell Leander something," Nathaniel tried to placate his mother.
But Katerina did not think it was nothing. No one kneels in front of Leander to tell him something. They kneel to die.
"Why? You’re my only son... Why did you..."
Leander sighed seeing Katerina sobbing leaning on the wall. "Is that the medications she asked for?" he got the tray Katerina was holding. "Nathaniel, get inside." He walked inside the room not minding the sobbing Katerina.
Viviana took a deep breath seeing the drama in front of her. She didn’t know why Nathaniel is kneeling.
Nathaniel stepped in and Leander closed the door. Seeing Viviana on the bed, Nathaniel nodded at her.
"What?" Leander asked in a bland, unenthusiastic voice.
He could guess why Nathaniel came to visit him the day after he got married. He now knows for sure that she is infertile. He was ferociously mad at Nathaniel for not telling him that much of an important detail.
"About Miss..." Nathaniel gulped. "About the lady...about..."
"She’s Minerva Kastello. You can call her ...," Leander looked at Viviana. "Madonna."
