Chapter 133: Fallen noble
Alexia stared with murderous eyes at Luis.
A whirlwind of emotions surged through her body, so overwhelming that she couldn’t even put names to them all.
"What are you doing here?" The spoiled rich boy asked with a sneer. "Did you come to beg me to take you back? If you betray your team and help me in this round, I might consider it." He said with a forced arrogance, trying to hide his true emotions.
Alexia scoffed at his words, glancing at his group. Luis’s standing in the family had taken a nosedive after Amanda’s arrest.
Truthfully, he hadn’t been in a good position since the humiliation he suffered during the S-rank test. Most of his servants had abandoned him.
Because of that, he’d barely managed to scrape together a team for this tournament. Zack’s group might’ve even been stronger than his at this point. And Alexia knew exactly how dire the boy’s finances had become after she left.
She had always managed investments, ensuring her master’s influence expanded. She also handled regular meetings with influential figures and allied clans close to the Belforts.
Without her, Luis quickly became isolated, and the humiliation of almost being eliminated in the rank S test only made things worse.
Besides, no one wanted to work for a man that treated his most loyal and competent subject with disdain. The way he treated Alexia was inaceptable, even money couldn’t erase it.
And, because of all of that, he was left with no one competent enough to manage his affairs. That’s why he was desperate to get Alexia back. But his pride would never let him admit it out loud.
