Chapter 85: The rescue team
"I imagine you are the assassin Lady Amanda mentioned," Wein bowed respectfully upon seeing Sherazade.
Obviously, Amanda had done everything possible to ensure that those sent on the mission to rescue the students were her allies. That way, if necessary, she could ask them to finish the job and erase any evidence.
And, to the blonde’s surprise, she would be forced to use this last resort, as the students had somehow not only survived the rift but also the assassins she had sent after them.
So, as the leader of the rescue expedition, she assigned Professor Wein. The man was not a close ally of hers, but she had obtained evidence of the crimes he committed during the Class S exam.
Not only did she have proof that he had teleported Davi to another location, but she had also gathered witnesses of him speaking with a suspicious man, as well as evidence of multiple small interferences.
On top of all that, the man still owed the woman a large sum of money. Therefore, he had no choice but to obey. That was why he became the leader of the rescue team and was responsible for eliminating the students.
Honestly, the man hated the idea of having to do this kind of dirty work. He found it a shame to eliminate noble-blooded students like Sophia, but he had no options. Afterall, Wein was not the type to sacrifice himself for his morals.
Behind him stood four figures, their bodies covered in heavy armor. They were combat specialists sent by Amanda.
"I will tell you everything I know..." Sherazade quickly replied.
She was not at all happy to report her defeat, but she also would not let her pride cloud her judgment. That’s why she honestly shared everything she knew.
In particular, she couldn’t help but highlight how impressive Davi was. However, upon hearing that, Wein laughed arrogantly. He had already defeated the boy easily once and was confident he could do it again.
