Chapter 264: The Flames Of Adversity
Kyle’s battle with the three brown wolves was a frenetic dance of steel and claw. He spun and dodged, his shadows swirling like living things as he waved his hands in intricate patterns. Shadow Walk allowed him to teleport behind one wolf, where he plunged a shadow-crafted dagger into its side. The wolf yelled in pain, but its flames scorched the ground, sending Kyle leaping back.
The other two wolves closed in, their jaws snapping mere inches from Kyle’s face. He bound one with Shadow Bind, its flames faltering as darkness wrapped around it. But the flames were relentless, eating through his shadows like acid.
Kyle’s eyes darted around the cave, taking in the jagged rocks and flickering shadows cast by the fire. He leapt onto a boulder, using Shadow Walk to propel himself towards a wolf. His dagger sliced through its fur, but the wolf’s flames singed his arm, making him grit his teeth.
The air was thick with smoke and sweat, the sounds of snarling and crackling flames filling Kyle’s ears. He was a whirlwind of motion, dodging and weaving through the wolves’ attacks.
Elara sat in her cottage, her eyes fixed on the crystal ball. A smile spread across her face as she watched Kyle’s desperate battle. "He’s quite the fighter," she whispered, her voice dripping with amusement.
The crystal ball showed Lucias and Layla, separated and running through the dark cave with two wolves tailing behind them. Lucias pushed Layla into a narrow crevice, his eyes gleaming with determination. "Stay hidden," he whispered, before turning to face the wolves.
Layla’s eyes were wide with fear, her breath caught in her throat as she watched Lucias prepare to face the beasts. The wolves’ flames illuminated the dark cave, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
Elara’s gaze flicked between Kyle’s battle and Lucias’s stand. "The game is unfolding nicely," she whispered, her eyes sparkling with malevolence.
Kyle leapt from boulder to boulder, his shadows swirling as he dodged the wolves’ flames. He was a force of nature, driven by determination and adrenaline. But the wolves were relentless, their flames intensifying as they sensed their prey’s fatigue.
The cave was a chaotic mess, rocks and debris scattered everywhere. Kyle’s shadows danced across the walls, a living, breathing entity that seemed to have a mind of its own. He was losing himself in the battle, his focus narrowed to the wolves and their flames.
As Kyle fought, the wolves’ flames scorched the ground, sending rocks tumbling and dust flying. The air was thick with the stench of smoke and sweat, the sounds of snarling and crackling flames filling Kyle’s ears.
Elara’s smile grew wider as she watched Kyle’s struggle. "He’s almost there," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
