Chapter 147: This Business Is Easy
The next morning came, and Granny Lu had already steamed the lotus leaf pancakes and fried the vegetables, all placed in separate basins. They also bought some crispy rice squares. The plastic bags were ready as well.
It was September and the weather wasn’t particularly hot, nor was it cold. So it was still light out when the students went to school in the morning.
There was a big sign with the words "Lotus Leaf Pancake" hanging at their doorstep, written by Qin Xiangnuan. Her handwriting was exquisite. Underneath the big letters were smaller ones listing the prices, "Tea-flavored vegetables 20 cents, meat-filled lotus leaf pancake 25 cents", the same prices as those set at the bus station.
It wasn’t long after they had set up their stall that customers started to arrive.
"When did a food vendor pop up here? Perfect timing, I’ve been hungry for almost a year now. Finally, there’s a place to buy food. Give me one."
Granny Lu quickly started to serve the vegetables. However, when picking up the vegetables, she followed Qin Xiangnuan’s method, using a plastic bag to grab the just-out-of-the-pot lotus leaf pancakes, never touching them with hands, which would be very unhygienic.
"What vegetables would you like?" Granny Lu asked the student.
The student glanced at the vegetables on the table - kelp shreds, tofu skin, bean sprouts, pickled cabbage, shredded potato, and the crispy rice squares, as well as frying fragrant chili pieces, all of which he quite liked.
"I’ll take a bit of everything, and more chilies," the student said, unable to help swallowing his saliva, wishing he could immediately stuff the pancake into his mouth.
