Chapter 448: OH, DID I HURT YOU?
AIris refused to look at Cane. She pressed her face against his chest, while Cane hugged her. He then simply ripped off her dress, so he could get rid of it, before he ran the water, after he managed to get her out of her dress.
Meanwhile, Iris still refused to look at him, though she was cooperative enough to let Cane get herself out of her dress. The water turned warmer when Cane dropped more flame stones into the water.
Iris lifted her head and her body moved out of instinct when Cane brushed away her hair. She didn’t want him to look at her back.
"It’s okay." Cane leaned over and kissed the tip of her nose, as he pulled her head to rest against his chest again.
Iris obliged and let Cane spread soap on her back. "Is it there?" she asked.
She knew what Cane was looking for and because she already knew about it, there was no need for him to deny it. "No. Your scars covered your back."
"It’s ugly, right? It’s disgusting." Iris didn’t hear what Cane said, she only spoke what was in her mind out of her insecurity. She didn’t want him to stare at her ugly back, whether the mark was there or not.
Cane pushed her forward, but kept her within an arm’s length, as he stared at her. "Do you also find my phallus disgusting?" What was the difference between her back and his phallus when both those parts of their bodies were covered in scars? "Or, do you find my face disgusting instead?" There was a visible scar on his face, a reminder of what horrible nightmares Gerald had put him through.
Realizing what Cane meant by that, Iris looked mortified. "NO! No! I didn’t mean it that way." Iris raised her hands to cup his face, as she whimpered. "I am sorry. I didn’t mean it that way."
Cane took her hands and kissed her palms. "Don’t say anything like that. You are mine and I take offense when someone talks bad about what is mine, including you. Understood?"
Iris bit her lip and Cane pinched her chin, waiting for her reply.
