"You lucky bitch!"
Yes, Ivy couldn’t disagree. A short smirk turned up on her face for a split second, only for it to disappear when she saw where Katherine was driving. Her eyes went wide as she saw the motorbike driving in her direction. Without thinking, Ivy rolled to the side to avoid getting hit. She rolled until she was on one knee.
However, Ivy’s struggle wasn’t over yet.
When she raised her head, she realized she had jumped into the driveway and was now on the way to where the black sedan was speeding. She might’ve successfully dodged Katherine, but not this car.
"Oh, god," she whispered, wide-eyed. "Dom!"
With the speed of the vehicle and the shock that struck her, Ivy’s entire body froze. She felt paralyzed, unable to move to save herself. All she could do as the beams flashed on her was shut her eyes, embracing herself from the pain of the crash.
Dominic, who was driving the car, gripped the steering wheel tightly as he made a turn, avoiding hitting the person they were supposed to save. Despite the yell and panic from his passenger, Dominic focused on maneuvering the vehicle, missing Ivy by an inch.
The tires screeched aloud, almost painful in everyone’s ears.
Ivy, who had her eyes closed, only felt a harsh breeze before the loud screech. The smell of burnt rubber wafted through her nostrils, prompting her to open her eyes when the pain she was expecting didn’t come. The moment she looked ahead, her lips parted as a sharp breath escaped her.
The sedan was gone. It was no longer driving right in front of her.
"Oh, god," she breathed out, feeling her bones turn as soft as tofu. Ivy collapsed, her hands on the concrete ground, head hung low. "Goodness. Maybe I was lucky."
